    @CtrlAltDltYou Also, there has been a lot of money spent to push this, from subsidies and profits to even the reputation of the AHA and others, who would lose a lot of face and perhaps even be at risk of lawsuits from people who will blame them for their ruined health. To save face and money, they cannot do an about-face on their position.

    @FatHeadMovie

    Race, Creed, Religion, and Orientation no less!

  • FatHeadMovie:

    @LOLitsJono I’m afraid the ability to ignore evidence knows no party.

    @FatHeadMovie

    Aren’t they called Republicans?

  • FatHeadMovie:

    @CtrlAltDltYou It’s not a conspiracy. One people have taken a public position, it’s very difficult to get them to change their minds. People are capable of maintaining beliefs even in the face of strong evidence against what they believe.

  • CtrlAltDltYou:

    I still dont get why governments continue to promote grains and defend the lipid hypothesis if they know it’s BS…is there some kind of conspiracy or something??

  • Ghost2743:

    what was the name of the scientist who thought he had the answer to solving heart disease? I couldn’t here what his name was.

  • dannym6four:

    @DrSandman123 Oh yes I’m sure Money and Prestige had nothing to with your decision. STOP CRYING.

  • rockstarofredondo:

    @DrSandman123 lol

  • DrSandman123:

    @rockstarofredondo I don’t want to hijack the comments section so this is the last I will write. There was no emotion and my reply was logical, so please don’t condescend to me. Your comment was both ridiculous and insulting, but apparently you have to much hubris to reread it and view it from a different perspective. I hope you have a good “doctor” when you need one in your life, and you certainly will at some point. Good luck to you.

    Good stuff FatHeadMovie.

  • rockstarofredondo:

    @DrSandman123 I think if you reread the comment & try to be logical rather than emotional, you would not be insulted. Like the profession was your choice & the debt, so is the feeling of being insulted.

  • DrSandman123:

    @rockstarofredondo – This is a ridiculous comment. As a physician, it is also incredibly insulting. While there are always those motivated by monetary gains, the vast majority of us entered this field to help those in their time of sickness and promote health. We have literally sacrificed at least 12 years of our lives to practice our chosen profession and have taken on enormous debt in the process.

    @inuyashaspet I seriously doubt the AMA as a whole has any interest in keeping people healthy. A monopolistic group of “doctors” that makes money off of people being ill wants to prevent people from being ill? Yeah right.

  • alphacause:

    Science is a great tool for discovery. But whenever business and government interests meddle in science, it no longer is a tool used to decipher truth, but it instead becomes an instrument that promotes dogma, and as with most dogma, usually it is deleterious to the public. This segment of your lecture demonstrates this masterfully.

  • bluegreen1138:

    corp shills. inviting us into camp showers , that only spray gas

  • FatHeadMovie:

    @Arfenhaus Thank you.

  • Arfenhaus:

    This is so damn engrossing. Awesome lecture.

  • inuyashaspet:

    what a big surprise. the AMA is aware of a huge medical problem and is powerless to solve it. I wish they had half as many lobbyists as other organizations.
