Is cardio three times a week enough?
Video Rating: 4 / 5
I’m going to try these myself!
Thanks Diabetesbob! Keep up the good work!
What do you think about HIT kettlebell workouts for 15-20 minutes??
My experience proves your diet has much more of an impact on fat loss than cardio. If you are not a competitive athlete and are doing conditioning training including cardio totaling more than three hours a week, then you are doing something wrong.
I disagree… i think doing too much cardio is terrible for you, if your trying to lose FAT eg. 30mins 5 times a week (at high intensity). your body can only burn about 2 pounds of FAT a week anything more will b MUSCLE! So if u have too much of a caloric deficit over a certain period of time, u will b losing an extensive amount of weight and will end up looking like a skeleton!
@GameBameProduction Thank you!
you are really great
I used to be able to lose weight with just intense weight training when i was in my teens and 20′s. I need the cardio now in my 30′s. I agree that you should get at least 30 mins of cardio 3 times a week, but it’s even better to get at least 30 mins to 1 hour cardio daily. Diet and cardio is the most important for weight loss. Once you reach a healthy weight, then weight training becomes a lot more important for increasing muscle mass that is visible in a slimmed down body.
ive been doing cardio 4 6 months 2 days per week ive reached my goal but i like over eating food mmmm lol
What about if you eat more because you exercise more? When I exercise alot I get more hungry than if I exercised normally.
I DO 5 DAYS A WEEK
It was great to hear this because I love cardiovascular exercise I’m a 5 foot 1 woman wieghing 122 (aiming for 112 for my birthday June 2nd), and I can run at 9.7km for an hour. I always aim to work out for at least forty five minutes, preferably an hour, three times a week, and am creeping my speed up to 10km. I lost a stone when I was 21 (then I was 10 stone), and have maintained a healthy weight since. I’m 28 in June I’ve never smoked, and I don’t drink. Thanks for this video.
My goal is to lose 55ilbs by next thanksgiving can you give me any tips please? like will drinking health shakes help ect??
LOL @ the smoking = death comments..
You smoke, you’ll die.
You don’t smoke, you’ll die anyway.
@bradby0185 You smoke, you die… You don’t smoke, you die anyway. So I don’t see your point.
i love to ride the bike. i feel great when i’m done. once i did 45 minutes and was on cloud 9 lol. thanks for the vides clips, very helpful.
@Steve thank you for this video. I agree with you that it depends on what goal you are trying to accomplish and what you are willing to do to reach your goal. I lost 70 pounds about two years ago, mostly through walking outside and on the treadmill as well as watching what I ate. I gained most of it back due to stress/depression from lost of my job two years ago. I am again walking five days a week 30 to 45 minutes a day as well as weight training two to three days a week.

@Entropy56 Wow! 50 pounds! That’s great! You should be very proud of your accomplishment. I’ve always said it’s so much easier not to eat 300 calories than it is to walk for an hour to burn 300 calories. This is why when people need to lose a lot of weight dieting and cardio work best.
@Tzenjin I’m not trying to discourage anybody. I just want to point out that most people aren’t doing enough to reach their goal.
You again? These videos are not aimed at pro athletes or military phys, they are aimed at people trying to lose weight. Stop trying to discourage people just because you have had a hard time with it.
Well done for discouraging people. For someone who is more than 50lbs overweight 30 mins of exercise 3 times a week is a great start out, sure they will need to up it the more weight they lose, but theres nothing wrong with it. From Jan this year to today I have gone from 17stone to 12stone 11 pounds and im still dropping. My first bit of exercise, 30 minute brisk walks, 3 times a week, and that was losing me 2 pounds a week. The perfect amount to lose.
Why did you link cardio with fat loss? You already said that consuming fewer calories is FAR more efficient. Exercise is good for all the other reasons you talk about. One exception is that if you are within 10 pounds of your target body weight, then exercise can assist losing those last few pounds which are the hardest.
Let me point out that one 15 months ago, I watched your videos and was inspired to lose 50 pounds without exercise in 8 months. I am disabled and can’t exercise. Thank you!
30 min on the treadmill is only 200 cals, ive been doing 16 min high intensity interval cardio on the treadmill and burning around 260-280 cals
@BeatBay We’ve had people call in from Israel.
